Mone replaces captain Walshe as Monaghan make two changes for trip to Galway

Monaghan need a result in their final Super 8s fixture.

MONAGHAN HAVE MADE two changes from the team who drew with Kerry, as they prepare to travel to face Galway in their last Super 8s fixture on Saturday [Throw-in, 6pm].

Dessie Mone comes in to the defence in place of team captain Colin Walshe while in attack, Latton’s Owen Duffy is named to start in place of Dermot Malone, and will play in the half-forward line.

A win or a draw will be enough to secure Monaghan’s safe passage to the All-Ireland SFC semi-finals. Should they lose to Galway and Kerry score a victory over Kildare, Monaghan’s chances of going through to the last four will depend on score difference with Kerry.
